The purity and simplicity of the existing square shape of the loft is maintained while defining four distinct spaces in it. The “bed” room which is completed by a staggered wall which wraps and connects to the existing central wall, defines the entry, the living room, the kitchen, and implies the space of the dining room. Through the staggered walls of the bedroom volume, a glimpse of the view is captured upon entering the loft. Likewise, other views of varying scales and proportions are created throughout the loft via gaps, openings, or reflections maximizing the potential of the one existing window while maintaining its largeness. The renovation is done using scavenged elements; a set of commercial glass doors, several wood veneer doors, a large horizontal mirror and a piece of driftwood.
