Red and Wet is an interactive participatory project, huge love greeting, celebration of women. The idea manifested on Valentine’s Day 2018 and was launched on Women’s Day.
The prints were painted by me in 2016 while processing my fertility and my life, particularly as a woman at a time when I was resurfacing from the hardest and also the most gift giving years of my life. Five+ years is a long time and for me it was a crazy fall. A reboot because that’s what I had been asking for and it came in a way that made it’s way noticed for sure! How else would one take the plunge and swim in mad waters onto a brand new shore!? I was dying and yet I was being born. I think my story is the same or similar to so many of each of our stories collectively. It is also the story we women, as a group, are experiencing together at this moment in time.
Red for love, urgency, warmth, fire, passion! Red for fertile, blood, womb, life! Red for anger, action, drive! Red for STOP, Red for Fire! Red for flow, sacred, courage! Red for warning! Red for Unity!!
Wet because Red is fresh and alive! being born!
The images as postcards are being exchanged among women. One by one and collectively, we are sharing our unique stories through greetings of admiration, respect, wisdom, and solidarity while a single story is emerging that celebrates and embraces our collective rite of passage.
The Red and Wet image is a starting point for what we each create. We take photos, make videos, do selfies… transforming each Red and Wet image and expanding each one to reach others as we quilt together this huge greeting. Here are some more examples, but oh my! I can’t wait to see the variety of imagery that emerges as diverse as we are!
We add poetry, wisdom, stories.. Use them to honor, reach out to, highlight, remember… Each one for a woman in our lives as we celebrate our emergence throughout this year!

As this grows it helps me manifest several things. As it grows, it helps US manifest bigger beautiful things together!
I would like to donate to support women globally. I love the idea that $100 can go far helping women in developing countries with 100 Under $100.
